             abstract = "The Northern region of Minas Gerais is considered a transition 
                         area between the biomes Caatinga and Savannah, with predominance 
                         of the Cerrado and its variations. It is common to the occurrence 
                         of fires, which can be caused naturally or by anthropogenic 
                         actions, resulting in changes in the landscape. In this context 
                         the work had as its goal the creation of an algorithm that enables 
                         the identification of operational standards and/or scars of fires, 
                         from the association of a geographical information system and 
                         temporal data obtained from the MODIS images/earth product MOD09Q1 
                         and MOD14A2, taking as reference archives of outbreaks of heat 
                         released by INPE (National Institute for Space Research), in order 
                         to diagnose the month with the greatest incidence of outbreaks of 
                         heat, and monitor the sites that get burned itself, evaluating how 
                         the total area of the scar of burning and the temporal monitoring 
                         of recovery from vegetative surface . The procedure adopted was 
                         the Boolean operation that performs a test from the result of the 
                         operation of the difference of NDVI before and after the process 
                         of burned itself. We can observe that in the month of September 
                         the higher incidence of outbreaks of heat from this result was 
                         conducted a follow-up time for the period 2007 to 2011 for the 
                         month of September in which diagnosed the recovery of the surface 
                         as to the vegetative growth by NDVI index generated by MODIS 
                         images product MOD09Q1, note a fast recovery of the scar of 
                         burning precisely in the stations of the rains, these results 
                         demonstrate that the fires in the North of mines are concentrated 
                         in the month of September and due to its agile recovery there is 
                         to be expected that these areas have anthropic influence as the 
                         management of agricultural areas with the use of fire.",
